About Our Independent Living Neighborhood
What Does Hud-Subsidized, Section 8-202 Mean?
At first, the term HUD-subsidized, Section 8-202 might sound complicated, but here’s a simple breakdown:
HUD-Subsidized Housing: The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), supports this program by funding the construction, renovation, or purchasing of low-income housing. HUD also provides ongoing rental assistance through a Project Rental Assistance Contract (PRAC), helping to keep housing costs manageable.

Section 8 Assistance: This federal program offers rental subsidies to eligible individuals and families, helping make housing more affordable.
Section 202 Supportive Housing: Specifically designed for older adults with very low incomes, this program provides funding to develop supportive housing that promotes independence and quality of life.
At The Villa, residents typically pay 30% of their monthly income toward rent. This covers all utilities, except phone, internet and cable, making budgeting simple and stress-free.
Our mission is to provide safe, affordable, and supportive housing where older adults are empowered to maintain their independence and enjoy a vibrant, connected lifestyle in a place they can call home.
