Occupational Therapy
When it comes to rehabilitation for seniors, occupational therapy focuses on achieving maximum self-sufficiency and independence by helping residents accomplish everyday tasks such as bathing, dressing, cooking, laundry and more. Speech and Language Therapy
Speech therapy is a specialized treatment that focuses on improving communication, swallowing, and cognitive-communication skills.The underlying cause of these issues could be physical, emotional, or psychological and/or due to conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, or other neurological disorders. For seniors’ rehabilitation, speech therapy can enhance their quality of life by addressing speech impairments, improving swallowing function to prevent choking, and boosting cognitive skills to maintain memory and problem-solving abilities. It also supports social engagement, reducing frustration and isolation caused by communication challenges.
Our speech and language therapists perform the assessments and tests needed to diagnose what’s happening and devise a plan to help the resident communicate more easily and work with them to find alternate communication methods if needed. Every Living Center’s spacious suite includes large large windows and terrific views for short- and long-term rehabilitation, wheelchair-accessible bathrooms with non-slip tiles in the showers and feature cable television, free WiFi, a landline telephone, and individual climate controls for heating and air conditioning.
