Sunny Vista believes in providing a nurturing and empowering home for older adults and a thriving and supportive community for team members who work tirelessly to provide exceptional care and companionship. In this spirit, we are excited to announce the launch of our new Team Member Scholarship Fund!
We’re starting our effort to increase support for this fund by participating in Colorado Gives Day. Last year, this statewide initiative raised more than 54 million dollars for Colorado non-profits like us. Early giving is already open and culminates with the Colorado Gives Day on December 10th.
We aim to raise at least $5,000 to start our Team Member Scholarship Fund.
This initiative is designed to support our dedicated team members’ educational and professional aspirations, empowering them to further their skills, achieve personal goals, and enhance their care for cherished residents. According to a study conducted by Walden University in Minnesota, there is a strong link between well-structured and well-funded staff education and better clinical outcomes for older adults, especially those living with some form of dementia. Many of our team members dream of advancing their education but face financial challenges that make such dreams seem out of reach. With your generosity, we can help make those dreams a reality.
The scholarship fund represents a meaningful opportunity to invest in the future of those who are the heart of our community. By contributing, you show appreciation for the care and dedication our team provides and directly impacts their lives and the quality of care your loved ones receive.
Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Your support will help cover tuition, materials, certifications, and other educational expenses for deserving team members. This will foster a stronger, more skilled team that can continue to create a loving and enriching environment for all residents.

“They are very responsive and completely focused on giving the absolute best care to their residents. Their commitment to excellence is commendable,” shares one family member. While another states, “The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They were understanding that we had not done anything like this before, and they were fabulous in helping me . . . it’s like an extended family there.” Imagine how these types of experiences will only increase as the team at Sunny Vista continues their education and increases their commitment to the older adults they serve.
We also know that a workforce that is supported and feels invested in stays longer. In 2024, we’ve made great strides in improving our staff turnover rate, dropping a full 10% as of late October. Providing scholarships for us to be able to “grow our own” will continue to ensure that the older adults in our community continue to be cared for by people they know and trust.
We invite you to join us in this effort by donating online via our new Colorado Gives Day page. By donating through Colorado Gives Day, you help increase our ability to benefit from a $1 million incentive fund available to all participants.
New this year, if you set up a recurring monthly donation through our Colorado Gives Day Page, the Foundation will match your first month’s gift, dollar for dollar, up to $100 (with a total match pool of $250,000 across all non-profit organizations.)
Just imagine the impact you can have with a gift of $50, $100, or $200. By helping a committed and caring team member reach their educational goals, you will, in turn, provide a higher level of expertise
to the care and service provided daily at Sunny Vista.
